A real-time feature extraction method for fingerprint images is presented, which not only takes advantage of adapting some concepts found in the literature but also introduces new ideas and procedures. An adequate tradeoff between the speed and the accuracy of the process can be obtained tuning up the parameters which control the operations performed in each of the implemented modules.
